Lillian Kearnes

June 20, 1925 — March 23, 2012

Lillian M. Kearnes, born on June 20, 1925, passed away on Friday, March 23, 2012, at the age of 86. She was a consummate homemaker and mother who loved to cook, especially her amazing fried chicken and liver and onions. She was a very strong lady who overcame bouts with Multiple Sclerosis during her lifetime. Lillian was a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader for many years and loved her family very much. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 55 years, Dale whom were very much in love, her parents, 2 brothers, 1 sister, and a great-grandson. Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Haggard and her husband, Len; grandchildren, Jay Normile and his wife Elise, Wendy Sauceda and her husband, Tom, Roger Haggard and his wife, Holly, and Denise Nolte and her husband, Gary; 12 great-grandchildren with twins on the way. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 2, 2012, from 6:00PM until 8:00PM, at Schertz Funeral Home. Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at 11:00AM, at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. For the last 4 years of her life her home was Autumn Winds Retirement Lodge where she was very comfortable. The family would like to thank the staff at Autumn Winds for their loving care and support. They were truly Angels to her and to our family.
