Leverne Hudson

July 7, 1966 — October 6, 2024

God has chosen another faithful servant to come home after her battle with cancer. Leverne Hudson of Converse, Texas transitioned on October 6, 2024. Leverne was born on July 7, 1966 to Geraldine Rocker and Levert Hudson in Mobile, Alabama. 

Leverne graduated from Wayland Baptist University with a BS in Occupational Education. She worked for several years as a financial coordinator and as a Client Relations Specialist in the Credit Union and Banking industry. 

Coming from a family with military history and commitment to the Air Force, Army, and Navy, she always had a desire to serve her country. Leverne joined the United States Air Force Reserve in July 2000 as a Services Apprentice. She worked in several positions within Services and in 2005 transitioned to the position of Lodging Specialist. MSgt Hudson’s career continued to move forward as the Readiness NCOIC in 2010. She progressed to the position of Section Chief of Readiness in 2014 where she led and managed the planning of the Services Flight training. After attending the Non-commissioned Officer Academy in 2013, Leverne quickly advanced to the position of Superintendent of Fitness in 2015. In 2020, MSgt Hudson attended the Air Force SNCO Academy in Gunter Annex, Alabama. 

Leverne’s faithful and dedicated service earned her the Air Reserve Forces Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, AF Longevity Service, AF Outstanding Unit Award, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism, USAF NCOPME Graduate Ribbon and the AF Training Ribbon. MSgt Leverne Hudson retired from the United States Air Force in April 2021. 

Leverne was preceded in death by her father, Levert Hudson and brother, LaBarron Rocker. She leaves to cherish her memories her mother, Geraldine Rocker; sisters: Regina Santano (Cedric deceased) and Celestine Todd (Joe); special companion, Craig Mathis, bonus daughter, Beyonce’ Celestino; brother, Michael Hill; six nieces: Erika Santano-Brown, Alexxus Santano-Billingsley, Tayanna Todd, Alyssiah Santano, Dreshea Williams, and Chante’ Calhoun; nephew, Joe Todd Jr.; Godsons, Dwayne and Romeo Torralva, and a host of beautiful great nieces and nephews.

Services for Leverne will be held at Resurrection Baptist Church on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at 11:00 AM.
