Lervia Weaver

September 27, 1927 — February 18, 2014

Lervia E. Weaver was born on September 27, 1927 in Deland, IL passed away on February 18, 2014 in Schertz, TX at the age of 86. He is preceded in death by: parents, Everett Weaver and Delia Weaver; brothers, Dewey Weaver and John Hugh Weaver and sisters, Dillo Burton and Jewel Crawford. Lervia is survived by his wife of 60 years Eileen Weaver; daughter Deanna Jennings and husband Clarence; grandson Jeffrey Jennings and wife Diana and great-grandsons Ryan Oldenkamp and Caleb Jimenez. Those who knew him know he had a wonderful smile and good sense of humor; he liked to give people nicknames (all in fun, nothing mean or bad). He always took responsibility and family seriously taking care of all he could. His common sense and ability to design a solution to a problem always seemed to work - you could tell when the wheels of thought were working. In the early days he was farming in Illinois, later delivering soft water tanks in Uvalde, Texas and his latest work passion was plant foreman at Cibolo Creek Municipal Authority (CCMA) in Schertz, Texas. He had endless memories of the work and the people he worked with at CCMA. If it had not been for his health, he would still be working. One of his most memorable accomplishments he enjoyed sharing is the fact he and his daughter graduated high school the same year (he got his GED to progress in his job). Those who met him were touched by his personality, dedication and determination. He will be greatly missed by family, work associates, friends and acquaintances. A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 23, 2014 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm at the Schertz Funeral Home. A graveside service will be conducted on Monday, February 24, 2014, 2:00pm, at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers family requests donations be made to GRASP the Greater Randolph Area Service Program or to Heart to Heart Hospice.
