In loving memory of Lela Mae Kirsch
Lela Mae Kirsch reached the end of her remarkable life on September 11th, 2023 at the age of 71. Lela was born in Houston, Texas on February 21st, 1952, to the loving embrace of James and Viola Wells. Lela and her seven siblings, four sisters and two brothers, grew up between Texas and Missouri. In 1974, Lela’s mother, Viola, was remarried to Howard Rotner, a man who would go on to play a pivotal role in shaping Lela and her siblings' lives.
After raising her two beautiful children from a young age, Lela proudly received her Associates Degree from Navarro College.
Lela will forever be remembered as a strong woman of faith, for her loving nature, her playfulness, and her occasional endearing stubbornness. Lela had impeccable dance moves, was a hotshot banjo player, loved to sing, and was a very skilled artist. Her creativity really shined through her watercolor paintings and her exuberant holiday ensembles, especially during Halloween. She will always be known as the favorite quirky aunt.
Lela leaves behind a legacy of love, survived by her two daughters: Jennifer LeCompte and her husband Ronald, and Stephanie Tucker and her partner Kyle Saffer. She leaves behind her grandchild Kirby Tucker and great-grandchild Lennox Garcia, both of whom she adored. She is also survived by her four sisters and one of two brothers: Judy Barnet, Carol Taylor and spouse Noble, Nancy Schulze and spouse Alfred, Christopher Wells and spouse JoDee, and Mary Stevens. She leaves many other family members and dear friends.
Memorial service will be held Saturday, September 16th, 2023 at 12:00pm in Schertz, TX at Schertz United Methodist Church.
