Mr. Lee Lewis passed away quietly at home with his wife and son by his side in Schertz, Texas around 6 A.M. Saturday morning March 8th. 

He was born to Reeder and Hattie Lewis in Haynesville, Alabama. Lee attended George Washington Carver High School in Montgomery, Alabama and graduated in May 1954. After graduating he immediately enlisted into the United States Air Force. Two years later he married his high school sweetheart (Novella Daniels) on June 23, 1956. 

Lee's total service time in the Air Force was 22 years, 10 months and 4 days, achieving the rank of Master Sergeant. The honors he received for his services were, (United states Military Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Service Ribbon, Air Force Commendation Medal, Meritorious Service Ribbon, Air Force Outstanding Unit Ribbon, Air Force Good Conduct/24 Oakleaf clusters, National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Small Arms Expert Ribbon, and Air Force Longevity Service Award/w4 Oakleaf Clusters). His overseas assignments were Japan and a tour in Vietnam. Mr. Lewis served as a Civil Servant for 21 years giving his country a total of 43 years of dedicated service. 

Master Sergeant Lewis continued his education, receiving a bachelor's degree from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. He had many years of civilian training in the Air Force AFSAT/ PS in general Dynamics (Peace Marble) and received civilian's honors for his work. Master Sergeant Lewis was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV). Master Sergeant Lewis attended military base chapels at all his duty stations and was a proud member of the Protestant Men of the Chapel (PMOC). His spiritual growth was encouraged and developed by military base chaplains. 

Lee was preceded in death by his father and mother, Reeder and Hattie Lewis. Two brothers, Joseph and Reeder Jr., as well as two sisters Sarah Gaston and Hattie Lewis Cannon. 

He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his wife Novella and his son Ronald. Two granddaughters, Zoie and Peyton Lewis. Nephews, James (Bertha) Gaston, George (Julia) Gaston, Alvin (Charlotte) Gaston and Billy Gaston. Nieces, Rosanell (Roosevelt) Williams, Sarah (Bobby) Sankey, Phetrella (Manning) Gaston, and Ann (Michael) Parks. 

As well as a host of cousins and friends who loved him dearly. 

The Funeral Service will take place at 12:00PM, with Visitation to begin at 11:00AM, on Friday, April 11, 2025 at Schertz Funeral Home Chapel. Burial to immediately follow beginning at 1:45PM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
