Lawrence Waddy, Jr.

CMSgt (ret.) Lawrence (Larry) Waddy, joined his friends and family in heaven on Friday, May 16, 2014. He was 79 years old and is preceded in death by his parents Ruth Lindsey Waddy and Lawrence Waddy, Sr. and a daughter in law, Jill Earle Waddy. He served in the USAF for 29 years where he worked as a photographer, trainer, jet engine mechanic, and logistics manager. He was distinguished in his military service, rising to the rank of Chief Master Sergeant and was awarded the Bronze Star for his accomplishments in Vietnam. He retired from the Air Force in 1984, and formed a consulting/training business (BizCom) with his wife Jan. He is survived by his wife of nearly 49 years, Janice Lange Waddy; sons Lawrence (Martin) Waddy, III, Lance Waddy, Leon Waddy and daughter Ruth Waddy and her husband Josh Dossett; grandchildren Ian, Michaela, Aidan and Hayes Waddy; and a host of relatives and friends. Arrangements are entrusted to Schertz Funeral Home at 2217 Fm 3009, Schertz, Texas with a wake service from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2014 with the rosary beginning at 6:15 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Chapel One on Randolph AFB at 9:00 a. m. Friday, May 30th followed by interment at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 11:15 a.m. Following interment, a repast will be held at Randolph's Chapel Center.
