Lawrence Raymond Real, Jr.

Lawrence Raymond Real, Jr., age 72, of Marion, Texas, died on April 12, 2025, following a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 1, 1952, in San Antonio, Texas, to Lawrence Raymond Real, Sr. and Lorine Lydia Friedeck.

Lawrence is survived by his devoted wife, Joyce, to whom he was married for thirty one years. He leaves behind his children: Russell, along with his wife Shawnna and their daughter Crystal; Travis; and Elizabeth Elbel and her husband Nick. He is also survived by his brothers, Louis with his wife Sherye and their daughter Deserae, and Leonard; as well as his sister, Loretta Umphers and her husband Tony.

Lawrence retired from CPS Energy after a 33-year career. In his personal life, he was known for his passion for home improvement projects and took great joy in tending to his vegetable garden. He was avid fisherman, Lawrence cherished the many fishing trips he made to the coast and Choke Canyon.

Family and friends are invited to honor Lawrence's memory during a memorial visitation on Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, followed by a Memorial service at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests live plants as a tribute to his vibrant spirit.

Lawrence will be remembered for his love of family, dedication to his work, and the joy he found in nature and fishing. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
