Lawrence “Larry” Madison Douglass, 58, of Schertz, Texas, died on December 26, 2019. He died from complications during rehabilitation from a broken femur from a work fall. It was unexpected and he was surrounded by family and in good spirits.
Larry, originally of El Paso, Texas, is survived by his wife of 36 years, Debra Douglass, his son, Rex Douglass (Ali Puente-Douglass), his mother, Carol Douglass, and his brother, Christopher Douglass (Mary). He was preceded in death by his father, Victor Jr., and the terrier mutt he rescued on a job site, Batman.
Larry was self-made and self-employed, leading Larry Douglass Lighting and Signs for nearly 30 years. He held both master electrician and master sign electrician licenses, and signs across the state of Texas bear his green LDLS sticker.
The family will not host a formal funeral but invites Larry’s friends and family to share stories of his larger than life personality, by emailing [email protected] The stories will be used to compile a history of Larry for his family and for a memorial service sometime in the future.
