Lawrence Brady

March 2, 1926 — March 31, 2010

Lawrence Larry Joseph Brady passed away peacefully on March 31, 2010. Larry was born March 2, 1926 in Bayonne, New Jersey. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph A. and Catherine Deasy Brady and two of his sisters, Kae Heckendorf and Hannah Brady. He married his love, Neota Becker on December 5, 1959; they celebrated their 50th anniversary with a Mass and special blessing at Good Shepherd Catholic Church on November 30, 2009. Larry grew up in the Garden State of New Jersey. Larry, nicknamed Buck , attended Bayonne Technical High School and was the leader of his social club. At the age of 17, he convinced his father to sign release forms to serve in the U.S. Navy where he fought in the Pacific Arena during World War II, which he always told his children was the Great One. It was the source of many of his adventures and stories. Post WWII, he worked for several Technical Publishing businesses, living in various states until JANA, Inc. brought him to Schertz almost 36 years ago. After almost two decades, he retired as V.P. from JANA. During Larrys retirement years, he enjoyed working in his garden, feeding the birds, doing crosswords, watching boxing, keeping up with news and politics, but especially spending time with his dogs. Larry was a member of the Buffalo Valley Lions Club and served as one of their state certified visions screeners. He truly enjoyed hosting the dances and devoting time doing vision screenings for local school children. Larrys greatest joy was simply spending time with his family. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, father-in-law, grandfather and friend to all. He is survived by his wife, Neota Becker Brady, daughter Christine Brady Bryan and husband JJ, son Kevin and wife Greta Gonzales, daughter Mary Brady Hoffman and husband Gerry, son Brian and wife Jillian, son Michael and wife Leslie; thirteen adoring grandchildren " Shannon, Liam, Aidan, Emmett, Gerry, Brady, Maura, Bridget, Sean Thomas, Seamus, Cavan, Lauren, and Heather; sister Mary (Josephine) Terhune, and numerous extended family members. Larry will be cherished and missed as a truly special man with his Irish eyes smiling.
