Larry Sauls
July 3, 1961 — November 4, 2012
Larry Wayne Sauls, 51, went to be with his Lord on November 4, 2012, after bravely fighting renal cell carcinoma (kidney cancer) for three and a half years. He was surrounded by his loving family and friends. Larry was born July 3, 1961, in Waco, Texas. He graduated from Jefferson Moore High School in 1979 and would later graduate from Baylor University in 1983. A Visitation will be held at Schertz Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 from 6PM to 8PM at 2217 F.M. 3009, Schertz, TX. 78154. On Wednesday, November 7, 2012 from 6PM to 8PM a visitation will also be held at Oakcrest Funeral Home 4520 Bosque Blvd., Waco, TX. A Memorial Service will be held with Pastor Chris Johnson presiding at the same location on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at 1PM that afternoon with an interment to follow at Waco Memorial Park. Larry was a dedicated manager for 21 years at Appraisal and Collection Technologies, a department of Linebarger Goggan Blair and Sampson, LLP. His enthusiasm in his work was only surpassed by his passion for home and family life. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother and a fun friend whose encouragement and humor will be missed by all who knew him. He and Lissa were inseparable, even working together daily. Some people find their soul mates and Larry and Lissa were certainly two of them. Active in all aspects of his life, when he wasnt occupied with his immaculate lawn, he was involved in scuba diving and scuba training, general travel activities and oh yes, lets not forget, karaoke. Larry sang a great John Denver! He so enjoyed his time with his brothers, son, and nephews out at the deer lease. Larry was fond of his man cave where he could sit and pet his favorite dog (Sadie) in company with his guns, knife collection and mounted trophies. His enjoyment of life itself along with his broad interests and deep passions were shared with his entire family. Larry is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 21 years, Lissa; children, Elaine Sauls, Heather Cortez and husband Josiah, Andrew Sauls, Erica Vick, Nickie Buckmire and husband Deawnne; granddaughters, Kynlee, Jurnee, and Jaylee; Mother, Barbara Sauls; Brothers, Terry Sauls and wife, Denisha, Gary Sauls and wife, Gayla; Sister, Sherri Christensen and husband, Paul; and many nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his father, Johnnie Ray Sauls; paternal grandparents, Johnnie Raymond Sauls and wife, Cleo Fern; maternal grandparents, Nancy Drake, and D.R. McKee, and brother Bobby Lee.
