Larry Neeley

Larry Dale Neeley, 63, went to be with the Lord August 1, 2019. He was born August 18, 1955, to Thomas and Anna Neeley in San Antonio, Texas. Larry was in United States Air Force from 1975 to 1979. He was a Vietnam War Veteran. On July 9, 1983, he married Peggy Sue Beard in Theodore, Alabama. Shortly thereafter he moved his family to The Lone Star State with his final residence being in Marion, Texas. Larry was a devout Christian who never met a stranger. He lived daily to be the hands and feet of Jesus. He was the most self-sacrificing man who would not only give you the shirt off his back but the skin as well. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending his days hunting, fishing and being with the ones he loved. He was an avid Smokey The Bear collector and enthusiast which led to his love of Ebay. There was no need for a tour guide while visiting a Museum as he could, and on occasion did, put them to shame. He was the king of pranks and master of the corniest jokes around. He had a heart bigger than Alaska and made everyone know they were loved. Larry was loved by many and will be missed by all. Larry is preceded in death by his brother, Thomas B. Neeley. He is survived by his parents, Anna and Thomas, his wife of 36 years, Peggy Sue, and three daughters, Diana L. Colvin and her husband Tommy, Melissa G. Stevens (Brett Sprankle), Amanda R. Davis and her husband, Dedric. Larry was the proud Papa of nine grandchildren, Lexi, Kaalel, Nakayla, Kaylana, Kiana, Melia, Faith, Millie and Luke. He is also survived by his siblings David Neeley and his wife Inez, Renee Davis and her husband Gene, James Neeley and his wife Patricia, plus countless nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will take place on Friday, August 9, 2019 , at 10:00AM, at New Life Baptist Church, located on 101 North St., Converse, Tx. 78109, with a reception immediately following. In lieu of flowers, donations to McQueeny Baptist Church would be appreciated.
