Larry Richard Jackson

Larry Richard Jackson passed away on August 21, 2023 in Schertz, TX. He was 79 years old and was ready to be reunited with loved ones waiting for him.

He was born April 17, 1944 in El Dorado, KS to Clifford Jackson and Minnie Kerr Jackson. The youngest of 13 kids, he grew up in El Dorado and had a busy childhood playing all sports including basketball and had a love for bowling. Larry was also a coach and loved to teach the youngsters the ins and outs of baseball.

Larry served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and went to Wichita State University. From there, he traveled most of his adult life working as an office manager for various construction companies.

He married the love of his life Barbara Jane Torrance on April 20, 1979. Together they enjoyed bowling, pool and traveling together to new destinations for work. Larry was a sports fanatic and enjoyed sports trivia, news and politics. He was an incredibly intelligent man, a genius at math, and enjoyed a good debate.

He is survived by daughter Stefanie Christina Jackson Hughes and granddaughter Samantha Jane Hughes, along with multiple nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by Barbara Jane Torrance Jackson; parents Cliff Jackson and Wilhelmina Kerr Jackson, seven brothers and five sisters.
