Lanzel "Lee" Schwing, a longtime resident of the Universal City area, died on Wednesday the 10th of August, 2016 in Boerne, Texas at the age of 88.
Lee Schwing was born on December 18, 1927 to Raymond & Lanzel Preston Manfull in Ogden, Utah. She will be laid to rest on August 15, 2016 at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
Lee was lovingly known to her family and friends as "Shorty". She met the love of her life, Edward Schwing, while singing with a big band. Ed fell in love with her sweet voice, her sense of humor and loving spirit. They were married 62 years.
Lee's husband and five brothers; Melvin Manfull, Byron Manfull, Nolan Manfull, Keith Manfull and her twin brother, Bud Manfull, preceded her in death.
Lee is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl & Curt Gembler from Boerne, Texas; her two sons and daughter-in-laws, Larry & Cindy Schwing from Corpus Christi, Texas, and Mark & Dolores Schwing from San Antonio, Texas. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Jonathan Schwing, Matthew Gembler, Joshua Schwing, Bryan Gembler, Jeremy Schwing, Jordan Schwing and Caroline Schwing, along with two great-grandchildren Noah and Willow Schwing.
In lieu of flowers, Lee Schwing's wish was that donations be made to the Universal City Animal Shelter. Donations can be sent to: City of Universal City, Attn: Animal Care & Control-Operating, 2150 Universal City Blvd., Universal City, Texas 78148.
