Katherine Watson

June 2, 1931 — September 8, 2013

Katherine (Kathy) Watson of San Antonio, Texas passed away on Sunday, September 08, 2013 after a courageous battle with her illness. She was born in Marlin, Texas. Left to cherish her memory and to mourn her death are a loving husband, Al Watson, a son, Chris Booker, a daughter, Valerie Stubblefield, three grandchildren, one great grandchild, and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. Kathys family also includes six sisters-in-law, Margaret (Ulysses), Dorothy (David), Betty Ann(Barry), Vernetta (Freddie), Paulette(Johnny), and Annette. Loved also by three brothers-in-law, Joseph, Vernon (Mary),and Donald Ray(Gloria) Kathy had many friends and all will miss her. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother. Kathy will be remembered by everyone as a loving, kind hearted, fun loving, and gregarious person. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed baking cakes for those she knew. At Resurrection Baptist Church, Kathy served faithfully as the first hospitality hostess and as an usher. Kathy was bold in her witnessing as she directed many to become members of her church. She loved people and this was reflected in how she related to everybody. She enjoyed bowling and bingo as hobbies and was an enthusiastic and avid Spurs fan. A celebration of her life will be held at Resurrection Baptist Church, 1002 Live Oak Road, Schertz, Texas at 9:30 am on Monday, September 16, 2013. Viewing will begin at 8:30 am with interment at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 11:45 am. Repass after burial will be served at Resurrection Baptist Church. Schertz Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
