June "Jaci" Blanch was born on Saturday, December 20, 1969 and passed away on Friday, March 14, 2014. She was 44 years young. Jaci was born at Wilford Hall Medical Center and spent most of her life in the Universal City area. Born into a career Air Force family, she spent time stationed overseas ad in several bases in the US. She was a 1988 graduate of Samuel Clemens High School. She started her dispatching career at Metro Ambulance, and was there for 16 years. Moving up the ranks to Dispatch Supervisor and touching an uncountable number of lives in the process. To this day "her crews" still have nothing but fond thoughts of her. She then went to the City of Live Oak as a 911 Emergency Operator, this is where she found her calling. She always loved helping people, even if over the phone lines. She loved being the first line of response. Throughout her years in service she made an impression on everyone she dealt with, even if she never met them in person, everyone knew who she was. Jaci was an animal lover, always having several "fuzzy kids" at her side. Although never able to have any children of her own, she had numerous "adopted kids" everywhere she went. Everyone would always come into her office and get their hugs before and after shift. With her husband being employed with the fire department she became the "shift mother", since most of his shift mates were younger, and was known for her cooking and caretaking. She always had an ear or shoulder for whoever needed one, and was the first one people would go to to talk about what was troubling them. Jaci rarely, if ever, thought of herself. Her focus was on everyone around her, and the job at hand. It was commonplace for her to sacrifice her personal time to make sure things were taken care of and "her crews" were happy, whether it was covering for someone with a sick family member, or making a Starbucks run for the oncoming shift. She was truly an exceptional person that made an impression on everyone. Her smile and happiness were infectious and you couldn't help but be in a better mood after talking with her. The emergency community lost a true asset in her. There will never be another like her. She was married for 18 years, and is survived by her husband, Robert Blanch, her "kids" Izzabelle, Remington, Franklin, and Sassy, and father Hugh Milner. She was preceded in death by her mother, June. Jaci we all love you and will be with you one day. Rest easy Operator we will take it from here. Visitation will be at the Schertz Funeral Home on Thursday, March 20, 2014 from 5:00PM to 9:00PM. All Services will conclude at the Funeral Home.
