Julia Macias

Julia Cordero Moreno Macias passed away in Schertz, Texas on November 7, 2020 at the age of 83. She was born on July 8, 1937 in Madrid, Spain to Anastasio Cordero Arango and Dorotea Moreno Gaona who preceded her in death. She shared her life with her husband Miguel Solis Macias for 56 years, who preceded her in death.

Julia lived a life of travels around the world in a style of elegance during her husbands’ career in the United States Air Force and after their retirement. She pursued a career in Cosmetology and Reflexology and established a high-profile clientele demonstrating herself as a pillar of society amongst her membership in the Spanish community. She had many other creative talents including sewing, knitting, and painting.

She is survived by her son Caesar Michael Charles Macias and daughter-in-law Joyce Macias of Schertz, Texas and grandson Michael Scott Herberst of Lubbock, Texas; three great-grandchildren Landon Herberst of Lubbock, Texas; Jasmyn and Ariana Flanagan of Schertz, Texas. Also survived by in-laws Pedro and Sally Macias of Cibolo, Texas; Florentino and Guadalupe Macias of Belton, Texas; Olivia Ann and Ruben Villareal of Austin, Texas; Mary Ann Johnson of Austin, Texas; John Henry Macias of Buda, Texas and Father Frank Macias of San Antonio, Texas.


Graveside Service will be celebrated on Monday, November 23, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery (Shelter #3) 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road San Antonio, TX 78209.
