Julia Lindorfer
June 28, 1916 — September 7, 2009
Julia "M" (Gunderson) Lindorfer entered into rest on September 7, 2009 at the age of 93, in Schertz, Texas. Julia was born to Gustav & Mildred Gunderson on June 28, 1916 in Medline Falls, Washington. Based on her faith in God, she lived practicing integrity, helpfulness, professional and personal work excellence, kindness, homemaking, and mothering. Lt. Lindorfer, U.S. Army, organized the Womens Ambulance and Defense Corp. 1939-41 enabling Congress to use the abilities of women to be enlisted and officer members of the military. As a defense worker she failed sabotage attempts against President F.D. Roosevelt. Discovering the delights of nature and books (knowledge), many children benefited from her enthusiastic interactive teaching. She wrote the first Vacation Bible School curriculum for Billy Graham. Believing evangelism first starts via retention, she wrote thousands of bulletin notes to missing members. She was an LVN, known for clinical expertise and gentle kindness, especially in pediatrics. Following her lead in service professions are her daughter, Joanne, RN; daughter-in-law, Jan, RN; granddaughters, Rebecca Wood, RPh.T., Kristy Wood, student nurse, Tracey, RN; grandsons, Nathaniel, U.S. Army, Charles, DPS Trooper & Nicky Lindorfer and great-grandchildren, Amber, Tyler, Lukie, Cody, Crystal, Samantha and Anthony. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made The Childrens Ministries Library Fund at Greater Randolph Seventh-Day Adventist Church: 101 Pecan Drive, Schertz, Texas 78154. Memorial Services will be held at Greater Randolph Seventh-Day Adventist Church at 3:00 PM on Sabbath, September 12, 2009, with Pastor Kasper Houghton officiating. Interment will be held privately at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at a later date.
