Judith Hohn

August 4, 1938 — February 21, 2013

Judith M. Hohn, born August 4, 1938, was called home to be with her Lord on Thursday, February 21, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Gertrude Schumacher, and sister Gloria. Judy was born in Mitchell, SD where she spent her childhood on the family farm before leaving for Concordia Teachers College in Seward, NE. After graduation, she taught elementary school in Jackson, MI. She married Dennis E. Hohn on August 7, 1965 and they welcomed two daughters: Hollie (Greg) Mosley and Wendy (William) Holland. During his 26 year Army career, the Hohns lived and traveled all over the country and the world, including, Germany, California, Texas, New York, and Georgia. They continued their love of travel in retirement, taking many cruises, from Alaska to the Panama Canal, Russia and Australia/New Zealand. Judy was a loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be dearly missed. Survivors include her husband of 47 years, 2 daughters, 3 grandchildren: Cameron, Katelyn and Kolby; sisters Frieda Fenster, Irm Strombeck, Doris Visaya, and brother John Schumacher. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 28, 2013 from 11:00 " 12:00noon, with services at 12:00 noon at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church on Austin Hwy. Interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
