Juan Soto

May 12, 1944 — August 5, 2018

Juan passed away while in Brook Army Medical Center at Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
He lived in Converse Texas with his wife of fifty years Virginia G. Soto.

John is survived by wife Virginia, his two sons John P. Soto and Mark A. Soto (Jennifer) and his daughter Lisa Soto-Lopez (Richard) He is also survived by his two beautiful grandchildren Christopher Michael Soto-Bautista and Olivia Marie Lopez. His children and grandchildren will forever be his PRIDE AND JOY. Sibling survivors include brother Robert Soto (Mary Ann) sister Tencha Trevino (Manuel) and brother Armando Soto (Lupita).

John is preceded in death by his mother and father Otila R. and Manuel A. Soto; his mother and father in law Marie F. and Fred P. Gonzales; his brothers, Manuel Soto, Gilbert Soto and cousins Joe Soto and Michael Soto.

John graduated Fox Tech High School. He served in the United States Army and Texas Army National Guard. He served in Desert Shield/Desert Storm and later retired from the U.S. Army.

John worked at the Southern Pacific Railroad & Via Transit Metropolitan where he was a graphic artist & worked in the maintenance department. He was a member of the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 694.
Things John took pleasure in were of course his artwork, the family dogs Spunky, Dexter and Sammie.

In earlier years he hunted with family members and went on frequent Texas coast trips . We traveled domestically and abroad. He enjoyed family gatherings, his grandchildren and of course Friday Night Lights.

There will be a visitation Monday August 13, 2018 from 5:00-9:00p,with a rosary at 7:00pm. Visitation on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 from 12:00-1:00p.m at Schertz Funeral Home Chapel, Services to follow. Procession to FT. Sam Houston leaves at 1:30p.m.
Burial at FT. Sam Houston National Cemetery at 2:30p.m
