Juan Saldivar

MSG Juan Saldivar was born on September 13, 1927 in San Antonio, Texas, he passed away on March 30, 2014 at the age of 86. Juan enlisted in the US Army in 1945 from San Antonio, Texas. He attended basic training at Camp Crowder in Missouri and then was stationed in Alaska, 45 miles from Russia for the end of World War II. He fought in the Korean War and Vietnam War and stationed in Germany during the Cold War. Juan retired from the US Army from Fort Hood, Texas in 1978. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Shirley Ann Saldivar, five brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his children, Zilda, Jennifer, Jennica, Loretta, Terri, Zinnia, Cherie, John and Jerome, his brother, Richard; 17 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren, and one Great-great grandchild. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2014 from 4:00PM to 8:00 PM at the Schertz Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Service will be conducted on Friday, April 4, 2014 at 11:00AM at Schertz United Methodist Church with interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
