Joyce Elaine Reinschmidt, age 84, passed away on May 20, 2018 in Schertz, Texas. She was born on August 30, 1933 to Frank & Mickey Quimby in Pharo, Oklahoma. Joyce was an involved member of St. Matthews United Methodist Church for 45 years. She was also proud of her time spent as an active duty military wife for 30 years. She enjoyed volunteering with the Children's Shelter and with the Rafaki Foundation.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Albert L. Reinschmidt, Jr.; and son: Clay Alan Reinschmidt. She is survived by her daughters: Kim Butler & husband Greg (Missoula, MT) and Sally Griewahn & husband Kurt (Schertz, TX); brother: Mike Quimby (Midland, TX); grandchildren: Kristin DeVleming & husband Dustin (Spokane, WA), Tyler Griewahn & wife Samantha (Schertz, TX), and Chase Griewahn & wife Ashley (San Antonio, TX); great-grandchildren: Audrey DeVleming (Spokane, WA) and Anthony Griewahn (Schertz, TX), as well as other family members and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at St. Matthew's United Methodist Church, 2738 MacArthur View, San Antonio, TX 78217. Burial at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: the St. Matthew's United Methodist Church of San Antonio, the San Antonio Children's Shelter or the Rafaki Foundation.
