Joyce Norberg

August 7, 1958 — October 28, 2014

Joyce Marie Norberg was born August 7, 1958 in Boone County, Missouri and passed away on October 28, 2014 in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 56. She attended high school in Columbia, Missouri and worked as a nurse's aide. In 1978, Joyce joined the United States Navy, where she later met her husband, Richard, while working at the Naval Fighter Weapons School (Top Gun) in San Diego, California. She was trained as a Photographer's Mate before being discharged in 1986 after 5 years of honorable service. Joyce worked for Technicolor in San Bernardino, California as a camera repair person. In 1986, she moved to San Diego, California where she graduated top of her class in Medical Assisting School. Joyce moved to San Antonio, Texas in 1994 and became a full time mother. She enjoyed watching crime shows and NCIS. Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Mae Boyd. She is survived by her husband, Richard Norberg; son, Christopher Norberg and brothers, Norman and Bobby Boyd. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 04, 2014 from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM at Schertz Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at 9:30 AM at Schertz Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with United States Navy Honors.
