Joyce Nichols

December 25, 1931 — February 14, 2014

Joyce Irene Schwartz Nichols, born on December 25, 1931, went to dwell in the house of our Lord on February 14, 2014, at the age of 82, after losing her battle with Alzheimer's disease. Joyce was born on Austin St. in San Antonio and attended Page Middle School and Brackenridge High School. On September 3, 1949, she married Charles Robert Nichols and together they had 4 wonderful children. Her grandson, Mark Nichols, preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Charles R. Nichols; children, Charles Thomas, Larry Stuart, Richard Wayne, and Diane Evelyn Nichols; grandchildren, Michelle Kassinger, Kristin Oates, Kaci Starr Nichols, and Clay Nichols; great-grandchildren, Maxwell and Malia Kassinger, and Carson and Landon Oates. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 17, 2014, from 5:00PM - 9:00PM, at Schertz Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at 2:00PM, at Schertz Funeral Home. Interment will follow at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Marion, Texas.
