Our beloved Josephine A. Gomez passed away peacefully on December 12, 2023, surrounded by family. She will be remembered as a devoted Catholic and loving mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. Josephine leaves behind an inspiring legacy of love and kindness as she had a tremendous capacity to care for her loved ones and was insistent on putting others before herself. She was a member of Good Shepherd Church and participated in Perpetual Adoration ministry for over 25 years. A woman of incredible strength and courage. She fought and faced her illness with great resilience. She exceeded everyone's expectations, no doubt. Her grace, intellect, and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Born on March 19, 1930, she was the daughter of Lino and San Juana Arispe. Josephine was preceded in death by her cherished husband of 63 years, David R. Gomez, along with her siblings - Elisa Arizpe, Margaret Acuna, Rose Perez, Ofelia Frias, Narciso Arispe, Lino Arispe Jr., and her grandson, Joseph D. Martinez. She is survived by her children - Mary Anne and Albert Martinez, Richard and Caryn Gomez, Lucy Gomez, Ida and Bart Bustamante, Genevieve Hernandez, and Jaime Gomez; along with her siblings - Humberto Arispe and Mary Parra; her grandchildren - Bernadette Gomez, Jason and Ruben Hernandez-Alejandro, Katherine Martinez, Albert Martinez Jr., Nicholas DeLeZerda, and Allyson Gomez; her great-grandchildren, Moriah and Kyle Moore; her great-great-grandchild, Selena Moore; and treasured puppy, Snickers.
