Joseph Woods

November 28, 1944 — October 30, 2014

Joseph "Chief" Woods was born in Brown County, Indiana to Felix Woods Sr. and Velma (Floyd)Woods on November 28, 1944 and passed away on October 30, 2014 in Live Oak, Texas, at the age of 69. Joseph served 31 years in the United States Air Force and retired as a Chief Master Sargent. After retirement, he spent 14 years working doing civil service for Randolph Air Force Base. He was preceded in death by his wife, Despina Woods; brother, Jack Woods and sister, Carolyn Knight. Survivors include his daughter, Andrianie Woods; brothers, Robert and his wife Lois, William and his wife Thresa, Felix Jr. and his wife Marilyn, James and his wife Debbie; sisters, Alice Hobbs and her husband Clyce, Linda McCloud and her husband Bob, Louise Bartlett and her husband Randy, Jeanie Woods; sister in law, Phyllis Woods; along with many special family and friends. A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 01, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Schertz Funeral Home Chapel. The Funeral Service will be held Sunday, November 2, 2014 at 4:00 PM, at Holy Archangels Monastery in Kendalia, Texas. Interment to follow at Holy Archangels Monastery Cemetery.
