Joseph Gordon

November 4, 1939 — February 11, 2010

Joseph David Gordon of McQueeney, Texas died Feb 11, 2010 at the age of 70. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Glen & Josephine Gordon; wife, Shirley Gordon; Sisters, Jenny Buehler and Alice Wheeler; Brother, Glen Bud Gordon. Joe is survived by his daughter Lisa Alfaro & husband, Charlie of LaVernia TX; grandchildren, Kalin Skinner of LaVernia TX, Concheast and Tiffeny Kohler, Sarah, Josephine and Blake Seward of Nevada; Brothers, Fred Gordon & wife, Kathy of Cedar Rapids IA, Don Gordon & wife, Lee of Marquette, IA. Joe was born in Marquette, Iowa. After high school, he joined the Air Force and eventually made Marion, Texas his home. After retiring from the Air Force, he opened Joes Small Engine Repair. He eventually moved to McQueeney and changed the business name to J&L Services. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion. He enjoyed socializing with friends and family. Under his rough exterior, he had a heart as big as Texas. Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 17th, from 5-9pm at Schertz Funeral Home, 2217 FM 3009, Schertz, Texas. Funeral Services will be on Thursday, February 18th @ 11:30. Private interment will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
