Jonathan Jonathan Brian Coppinger was born December 12, 1989 in Houston TX as the second son of Jeff and Theresa Coppinger. He joined his Lord and Savior with his wife, Jessica, and his infant son Barrett, on January 23, 2015. His survived by his parents, his in-laws, Kristi and Kenneth Carnes, brother, Nathan Coppinger, grandmother, Patricia Hulce. Also surviving are his aunts and uncles: Brian and Janet Coppinger, Gary and Dion Coppinger, Dalene and Don Coleman, Ellen and Gerald Sibley, Linda and Richard Breihan, honorary aunt, Cheryl Osborne and numerous beloved cousins. Jonathan graduated from Stephen F Austin High School, Sugar Land, Texas. He was a tremendously talented Drummer exhibiting his talents all four years of high school; three of those years he was on the snare line. Jon was a member of Troopers Drum Corps International 2007, 2008 and 2009, all in the snare line serving as snare captain in 2009. He graduated from Stephen F Austin State University, Nacogdoches, TX in May, 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts , Liberal Studies with a minor in Music. He was a faithful member of the MOG (Men of God) Fraternity. Jonathan was raised in Bellaire West/Heritage Baptist Church and surrendered to ministry at the age of 17. He served the Lord in youth and music ministry. After marrying Jessica Carnes, they began working and serving God together in a variety of venues. Their ministry was the natural outflow of who they were. For the last six months, Jonathan has worked alongside his father-in-law and other family members to prepare a home for his wife and precious coming child. He was in his element at the Guitar Center teaching students and passing on his passion and love for percussion. Jessica Jessica Lyn Carnes Coppinger was born July 26, 1989 in San Antonio TX to Kenneth and Kristi Haecker Carnes. She joined her LORD and Savior at the same time as her husband, Jonathan B Coppinger and infant son, Barrett Ryan Coppinger on January 23, 2015. She is survived by her parents, her in-laws, Jeff and Theresa Coppinger, Brother-in-law, Nathan Coppinger, grandparents Rodger Carnes, Lee and Debi Haecker, Wilda and Frank Kennedy, Beth Parsley and Curtis Parsley. Great- grandmothers, Bea Neumann and Virginia Whigham also survive along with numerous other aunts, uncles and cousins. Jessica graduated from Steele High school in Cibolo, Texas in June 2007. She was active in the band programs of both Clemens and Steele, serving as Steele's first female drum major the year they opened and was the head drum major her senior year. She attended Stephen F Austin State University and graduated from Angelina college with a degree in Respiratory Therapy. She went on to get her state certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist after graduating in 2013. She met Jonathan at SFA and became engaged during the Christmas season of 2009. He being a committed Christian and involved in music and ministry was literally a match made in heaven. They married August 21, 2010 returning to their respective studies to get their degrees. While in Nacogdoches they were significantly involved in ministry. Their life was to minister. After graduation they eventually moved to the San Antonio Texas area and recently moved to the Marion - Zuehl community to make their home in what was originally her great-grandparents Haecker home. Jessica worked at University Hospital in San Antonio Texas and was eagerly looking forward to motherhood. Barrett Barrett Ryan Coppinger was born January 23, 2015 and joined his parents in Heaven on the same date. He is survived by his loving Nana and Paw Carnes and Grammy and Pops Coppinger. Great-grandparents Rodger Carnes, Lee and Debi Haecker, Wilda and Frank Kennedy, Beth Parsley and Curtis Parsley. Great-great-grandmothers, Bea Neumann and Virginia Whigham, uncle, Nathan Coppinger and also survive along with a host of other loving family members. A Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00PM on Wednesday, January 28, at Schertz Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, January 29, 2015, with interment following at Redeemer United Church of Christ Cemetery. In lieu of flowers Family has requested donations be made to Arthritis Foundation at http://www.volunteermatch.org/search/org340043.jsp
