Johnnie Porter

Mr. Johnnie Porter, born in Seguin, TX, went to be with the Lord on September 20, 2016 at the age of 76 years. He is survived by his wife Margie Porter of 54 years. Together they had four children: Johnnie Jr. & wife, Sally, Elizabeth Porter Laird, Adrienne Porter Thomas & husband, Al Patrick, and Cory Porter; 7 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Johnnie instilled great work ethics in his children. In his early years he worked in construction. In his later years he worked at St. John's Lutheran Church until he retired. He had a strange wit about him and always would tell you the truth with his humor, which his family will miss. A Visitation will be held from 5-9PM on Friday, September 23, 2016 at Schertz Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11AM on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 502 E. Nueva St., San Antonio, TX 78205 with interment to follow at St. John's Cemetery, 1100 Dakota St., San Antonio, TX 78203.

Pallbearers will be: Al Patrick Thomas, Calvin Simmons, Ronald Laird, Donald Matthews, Richard Matthews and Rodney Laird.
