Johnnie Brogdon

September 5, 1932 — September 25, 2015

Johnnie Aburn Brogdon, born on September 5, 1932 in Fort Sam Houston, Texas, passed on September 25, 2015 in LaVernia, Texas, at the age of 83. Johnnie graduated from Brackenridge High School in 1950, and went on to join the United States Navy. He worked in Floor Covering for most of his career. In his spare time, he was a member of the VFW Post 837, a lifetime member of the Bexar and Germania Bowling Clubs, and the Germania Farmer Verein at Anhalt. He was preceded in death by his parents, John S. and Adeline Meckel Brogdon and sister, Sudie Mae Kaczmarek. Johnnie is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jeannie Brogdon; children, Jean Manning and husband Kevin, John Brogdon and wife, Denise; Sister, Janet Cielencki; grandchildren, Kaleb Brogdon, Carson Manning; step-grandchildren, Jonathon Manning, Megan and Wayne Stacy; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 1, 2015 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM at the Schertz Funeral Home Chapel. A Funeral service will be held Friday, October 2, 2015 at 1:00PM at Redeemer Church with the interment to follow Redeemer Cemetery.
