John Robert Wicks

John Robert “Bob” Wicks, 83, passed away in Schertz, Texas on Tuesday, July 23, 2024.

Bob was born on December 17, 1940 in Springfield, Illinois to Jack Frank Wicks Jr. and Evelyn Marie (Whitler) Wicks. He attended Butler School, and then graduated from Springfield High School in 1958. After high school, Bob joined the Air Force and started his career.

While at MacMurray College in Jacksonville, Illinois, Bob met his future wife, Glenda in April of 1960. The two were married in June of 1961, welcomed their son, Rob, in 1962, and daughter, Anita in 1968.

Bob is survived by his loving wife Glenda; son, Rob Wicks; daughter, Anita (Jamie) Luther; grandsons, CJ and Jake, all of whom reside in San Antonio, TX; sister Nancy (Rick) Williams of Springfield, IL; uncle, Richard and aunt, Shirly Whitler of Girard, IL; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you hug a loved one tight in honor of Bob.
