John Ward, Sr.

March 30, 1934 — December 13, 2011

John Devitt Ward, Sr., age 77 of Schertz, TX, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2011. John is preceded in death by his parents, John and Anacletus Ward and his brother, John Neil Ward. He is survived by his wife, Joanne Ward of Schertz, TX; son, John Devitt Ward, Jr. of Austin, TX; daughter, Mary Anne Young and husband, David and their daughter, Brigit, all of Bonham, TX; sisters, Mary Legrand of Mission Viejo, CA, Sr. Ellen Ward of Spokane, WA, Margaret Harnett of Bremerton, WA and brother, William Ward of Littleton, CO. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM (with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM) on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Schertz Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Wards honor to The American Diabetes Association, Memorial and Honors Program, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
