John Sax

John Franklin Sax, 86, of Cibolo, passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2012. He was born on May 9, 1926 in Philadelphia, PA. John was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, soldier and friend. He proudly served in the U.S. Army in Europe during WWII where he spent two tours of duty in Germany and retired after 20 years. As a civilian, he worked in retail sales, selling major appliances and retired from Montgomery Wards in 1999. John was predeceased by his first wife, Judy Sax. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Evelyn Sax, daughter Frances Matheny (Jim); sons John Sax (Jill) and Robert Sax (Connie); and 14 grandchildren. Also surviving are step children Cheryl Wenzel (Dale), Melissa Benacci (Michael), John Marks and William Marks; his brother Robert Nieves; and his faithful dogs, Sandy and Lulu. A visitation will be held on Monday, June 11th from 5:00-9:00pm at the Schertz Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, June 12th at 12noon at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
