John Roberts

November 15, 1935 — December 27, 2017

John C Roberts, born November 15, 1935 in Columbia, SC, passed away on December 27, 2017 in Bexar County, TX at the age of 82. John is preceded in death by wives Mary Lou (Holland) Roberts and Quy Roberts, parents William David and Ethel Tucker Roberts, and brothers Carlisle and Bill Roberts. He is survived by children; Kwin Black (Mickey), Kathryn Frazier (Michael), Vicki Gammon (Chris Thompson) Joan Pace, and Dennis G Pace, II (Debbie), grandchildren: Chelsea Windal, Cameron Black, Brian Windal, Ciara Gammon, Kate Threadgill, Beau Stanley, Curtis Black, Emma Pace, Emmie Prince, Dennis G Pace, III, and 9 great-grandchildren. After 23 years of distinguished service in the US Army, John retired as a Lt. Colonel. John was a lifetime member of the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment of Vietnam Veterans, Disabled American Veterans, National Rifle Association, Beef Masters Breeders and the Bexar Bowling Society.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Jan 4, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00pm at Schertz Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be conducted Friday, Jan 5, 2018, 11:00am, at Redeemer United Church of Christ in Zuehl, TX, with internment to follow at the Redeemer United Cemetery.
