John Pellegreen
July 18, 1935 — November 26, 2010
John Jack H. Pellegreen passed away on November 26, 2010 in San Antonio, TX. He was born on July 18, 1935 in Searights, PA; the youngest of 4 to Frank and Susie Pellegreen. He joined the US Air Force in 1954 and proudly served for 20 years. He met and married his wife of 50 years, Myrna, while stationed in Panama. He then moved to Schertz, Texas in 1968 and worked at Randolph AFB at the Military Personnel Center from 1968 to 1994 when he retired from Civil Service. When not at work he spent his time fishing, working on cars, tinkering with just about anything. He was the ultimate handy man. There wasnt anything he couldnt do or figure out, just hand him a screwdriver. He loved spending time with friends and family and was very proud to be an Italian Dago American and a Steelers fan. He now rests in peace and we will all miss him dearly. He is survived by his loving wife, Myrna, son, John Jackie Pellegreen and wife Sara, daughter, Laura Jo and husband Jimmy Schafer, grandchildren Christopher Michels and wife Alicia, Chelsea and Cassandra Michels, Alyssa, Austin and Annie Pellegreen,great-grandchild, River Michels and sister, Josephine Lucidi and all his extended family in Schertz, TX, Panama and Uniontown, PA. Services are as follows: Wednesday, December 1, 2010, 6pm-9pm, Respects and condolences at Schertz Funeral Home, with a Rosary to be Recited at 7pm. Thursday, December 2, 2010, 12:00pm, services at Schertz Funeral Home and interment to follow at 1:45 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
