John Moseley

John Winston Moseley(Lt. Col., USAF Ret), passed away on October 25, 2011 at the age of 56. Colonel Moseley was preceded in death by his father, Lt. Col. (Ret) Wendell F. Moseley and his mother, Frances G. Moseley. John is survived by his wife, Shelley; daughter, Megan Rice and husband, Adam of San Antonio; three brothers, Wendell Ford Moseley and wife Nancy of Herndon, VA, Phillip Moseley, and wife, Norah of Alexandria, Virginia, Eric Moseley and wife Cindy of Neches, Texas; nieces, Dr. Janice Langer, Debbie O'Laughlen, Dr. Kendall Moseley and Lindsey Urbina; nephews, Clay Moseley and Eric Moseley and his first granddaughter is lovingly expected in November. John attended Samuel Clemens High School. He earned a Bachelor's degree from Trinity University in San Antonio, TX and a Master's degree from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK. Colonel Moseley's highly specialized career spanned 20 years of duty with Air Force Audio Visual Service, AF Combat Camera, Training with Industry in motion picture production at WGN Chicago, the AF Inspector General, Squadron Command, and Communications Executive Officer assignments. His assignments took him twice to Oklahoma, twice to California, twice to Illinois, to Virginia, Germany, and finally to retirement near Randolph AFB, Texas. John was an avid golfer, accomplished snow skier, accomplished TV documentary producer, and most importantly a loving, devoted husband and father throughout his life and career. He viewed every assignment and every life event as an opportunity. His legacy to his family is his positive energetic outlook on life, love of family, and patriotism. Visitation will be at Schertz Funeral Home Chapel, Thursday, November 3, 2011 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM. Services will be 12:00 noon on Friday, November 4, 2011 at Universal City United Methodist Church. Interment will be at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. If you so choose, memorial donations may be made to: Universal City United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
