John Debolt

March 17, 1933 — May 14, 2014

Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, John C. "Jack" DeBolt, born on March 17, 1933, passed away on May 14, 2014, at the age of 81. Jack served in the United States Army in the Korean War. He worked for Montana Power and after 20 years of service he retired to Ruidoso, New Mexico for 14 years. His volunteer service included Boy Scouts of America, Kiwanis International, Spencer Theatre Usher, Mounted Patrol in New Mexico, Ruidoso Police Department, and the Hemophilia Society of New Mexico. He later moved to San Antonio, Texas to be closer to family. Jack was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church and The Knights of Columbus. His brothers, James DeBolt and Eldred DeBolt, and his daughter, Deborah Reynolds, preceded him in death. Survivors include his devoted wife of 59 years, Bobbie J. DeBolt; daughter, Patricia Smith and her husband, Roger; son, John P. DeBolt and his wife, Yvette; grandchildren, Anna, Adam, Sarah, Paul, Jessica, Joshua, John Anthony, Nicole, and Cassandra; great-grandchildren, Hannah and Micah; brothers, Charles DeBolt and his wife, Julie, and Roger DeBolt and his wife, Linda; sister, Beverly Holt and her husband, Jim. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 26, 2014, from 5:30PM-8:30PM, with a Memorial Rosary to be recited at 7:00PM, at Schertz Funeral Home. The Memorial Mass will be on Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at 9:45AM, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 1065 E Live Oak Rd, Schertz, Texas 78154. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with United States Army Honors. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John's name to the Sangre De Oro - Hemophilia Foundation of New Mexico, PO Box 51494, Albuquerque, New Mexico, 87181.
