Joe Mauricio

The world lost a beloved friend, son, and brother, Joe Yi Mauricio, Jr. age 40, who passed on Thursday, November 17, 2022, with his sister, Alice Steiner by his side. Joe was born June 10, 1982 in Seoul, Korea, and came to the United States shortly after. Joe was raised in San Antonio, Texas by his wonderful mother and father.

Joe, known to many as “Junior,” was a graduate of Theodore Roosevelt High School and studied at San Antonio College. After high school, Joe served his country in the United State Air Force. He returned to San Antonio and worked Civil Service and Sysco where he made many close friends.

Joe enjoyed taking care of his family. He also loved sports, music and fishing. Joe lived life to the fullest and enjoyed the simple things; watching football with friends and family, cracking jokes, making incredible hulks and especially enjoyed watching movies with his mother. A very caring and sweet person, he was instantly loved by everyone that met him. He was always there for the people in his life and could always be found with a smile on his face and laughter in his heart. Junior will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Joe was preceded in death by his father Joe V. Mauricio and mother Chong Cha (Moon) Mauricio. He is survived by his sister Alice Steiner, his uncle Manuel Mauricio, his aunt Mary Damek, and leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends.
