JOAN COOKIE SMITH passed away at the age of 69 on Wednesday May 29, 2013. Cookie was born in Des Moines, Iowa on October 19, 1943. Cookie was a devoted housewife and mother. She is preceded in death by her parents Philip Wilson & Nellie Hinds Armintrout and brother Robert Armintrout. Survivors include her beloved husband of 51 years Clarence M. Smith, daughter Michelle Shelly McComsey, son Michael M. Smith, grandsons Dustin McComsey & Joshua Smith, sisters Joyce Nation & Karen Hogue and brother Norman Armintrout. Cookie did not want mourning for her survivors only to celebrate the good times and joy she brought to others. There will be a Celebration of Life held in her honor on Friday June 7, 2013 at 7:00PM in the Legacy Oaks Apartments clubhouse located at 5501 Legacy Oaks Pkwy, Schertz, Texas 78154. The family has requested that any donations be made to a favorite charity.
