Jimmy Mezick

February 22, 1944 — November 30, 2020

Jimmy Fred Mezick passed away on November 30, 2020 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on February 22, 1944 to Artis and Mildred Mezick in Talladega, Alabama. Jimmy was proud to have spent much of his life serving our country. He retired after many years of service working as a helicopter and aircraft mechanic in the Army, Army Reserves and also in Civil Service. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and close friends.

Jimmy is survived by his son: Jeremy Onken & wife Jennifer; granddaughters: Kasie Onken-Nelson & husband Matthew, Chandler Onken and Kolbie Onken; great-grandchildren: Stiles Nelson and Grace Nelson; as well as brothers, sisters and other family members in Alabama.

A Graveside Service, with Military Honors, will be held at 11:15AM on Monday, December 14, 2020 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery (Shelter #2).

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to your local VFW in honor of Jimmy.
