Jesse Valdez, Sr.

December 25, 1928 — February 14, 2008

Jesse (Jesus) Valdez, Sr., age 79 of San Antonio, entered rest peacefully on Thursday, February 14, 2008. Jesse enlisted in the Navy at age 17 with permission from his father and was a World War II veteran. He will be remembered as a man who loved God, his Family and his Country. Jesse was born to Librado & Carmen (Puente) Valdez on December 25, 1928 in San Antonio. Jesse is survived by his wife of 23 years, Isabel Ochoa-Delgado-Valdez; sons, Jesse Jr., Albert, Robert and Roy; daughters, Marie, Debbie, Denise, Martha and Margaret; nineteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, John and daughter, Donna. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM (with a Rosary being Recited at 7:00 PM) on Monday, February 18, 2008 at Schertz Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at the Schertz Funeral Home Chapel. Interment, with military honors, will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
