Jesse L. Cantu 

November 5, 1948 — March 29, 2025

 Universal City, Texas 

Jesse Cantu was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, godfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. He went to be with the Lord on Saturday March 29, 2025, at the age of 76. 

Jesse was born in San Antonio, Texas in 1948 to parents Jesse and Alice Cantu. He attended La Salle Catholic High School and went on to graduate with a Bachelors of Arts & Applied Sciences from Southwest Texas State University. He worked at Kraft Foods for 20 years, retiring in 2013.

 He spent almost 50 years with the love of his life, Hilda, raising 2 children together: Victoria and Jacob. Jesse was a beloved father, grandfather, uncle, brother and godfather who was treasured by all. He was the stability of his family with a generous heart and steady words of wisdom and advice. He loved playing chess, watching action movies, listening to country music, eating BBQ, and going to Las Vegas. He also loved spending time with his family, including his daughter-in-law Heather, son-in-law Eddie, and seven grandchildren: Talyn, Devin, Jacob, Darius, Maricela, Adrian, and Angel. Jesse always put his family before himself. As a father and grandfather, he was a constant source of support and guidance, always encouraging his children and grandchildren to follow their dreams and work hard for what they want. 

He is survived by brothers Gilbert and Ruben, and his sister Diana. He was preceded in death by his parents Jesse G. and Alice Cantu. 

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 7th,at 5 pm at the Schertz Funeral Home Chapel. Eulogy will begin at 6pm, followed by the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:30 pm.
