Jerry Michael Neal, aged 64, of Hondo, Texas, passed away on August 24 2024, in his hometown of Universal City following a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born August 23, 1960, at Ramey Air Force Base in Puerto Rico, Jerry was the son of Frank and Joann Neal. He cherished his life in Hondo, where he embraced the beauty of nature, enjoying activities such as hunting, fishing, and caring for animals. A passionate beekeeper, Jerry delighted in tending to his apiary and sharing the fruits of his labor by selling and trading honey with local vendors.
A proud graduate of Samuel Clemens High School in 1979, Jerry enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving as an aircraft welder for two decades before his retirement.
Jerry is survived by his father, Frank Neal; sisters Lynne Cole and Teresa Pearce along with her husband, Lyle Pearce; nephew Neal Cole and his wife, Kaci Cole; nephew Isaac Pearce; niece Julia Pearce; and great-nephew Easton Cole. He is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Joann Neal.
A service to honor Jerry’s life will be held on September 13, 2024. The rosary will begin at 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral mass at 11:30 AM at St. Monica Catholic Church in Converse, Texas. Graveside services will take place at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 1:30 PM, complete with military honors.
Jerry's memory will be forever cherished by all who knew him.
