Jerry Edson

December 24, 1944 — January 9, 2015

Retired MSGT Jerry R. Edson of Schertz, TX, passed away at the age of 70 with his family by his side on Friday, January 9, 2015. He was born on December 24, 1944 in Ardmore, OK and is a Tribal Citizen of the Cherokee Nation. He married Brenda Noble on June 4, 1966 and together they had 2 children, Jerry D. Edson and Jamie Edson Opielski. Jerry served 23 yrs in the Air Force before retiring in 1986. Shortly after retiring, he worked at Lear Siegler (LSI) for 17 yrs. Jerry is preceeded in death by his Father, Warren G. Edson; Mother, Stella Fletcher Pickett; Step Father, William T. Pickett and Step Mother, Gladys Edson Ferguson. Jerry is survived by his wife, Brenda Noble Edson, his son and daughter-n-law, Jerry and Christie Edson; his daughter and son-n-law, Jamie and Jason Opielski; grandchildren, Tyler Edson, Austin Edson, Hunter Edson, Alona Edson-Opielski, Matthew Edson-Opielski, Jason Opielski, Justin Opielski and Brooke Edson; great grandchildren, Cheyanne Rodriguez, Aubrey Edson, Keegan Edson and Wyatt Edson and half-sisters, Loree Edson Watson, Lynn Edson-Iris and Lola Edson. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 26, 2015 at 9:30AM at the Schertz Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at 11:15AM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. Reception will follow at the Universal City United Methodist Church, located at 90 Winn Ave, UC. TX 78148 at 12:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall.
