Jeffery Smith

June 6, 1969 — October 17, 2017

Jeffrey, "Jeff", Michael Smith, 48, Bulverde, Texas, passed away on October 17, 2017.

Born San Antonio, Texas, on June 6, 1969, Jeff graduated from MacArthur H.S. in San Antonio before serving in the United States Army. His strong mechanical aptitude and expertise were utilized in the motor pool, working on 6-wheeled vehicles and other heavy military transportation.

Jeff was never one to sit still, and that "on-the-go" personality trait was reflected in his love for all things moving fast, especially cars, boats, and motorcycles. Jeff loved working on machinery and was an expert mechanic who could repair nearly every problem on any motorcycle, car, or boat. Jeff's generosity was reflected in his willingness to help friends and family repair anything with an engine.

Ever the adventurer and outdoorsman, Jeff loved traveling, skiing, boating at the lake, and barbecuing.

Jeff's adventurous spirit and his love for his family and friends will be carried on through his son, Brian Smith; grandson, Leonardo Isaac Smith; father and step-mother, Mike and Chrissy Smith and mother and step-father, Kathy and Ben Cantrell; Brother, Scott Smith; Step-brothers, Drew and Lance Fitzsimon; and his Uncle Steve, "Petey", Smith.

Jeff will be reunited in Heaven with those who preceded him in death, including his sister, Kimberly Ann Smith-Hanke; paternal grandparents, Jim and Pat Smith; maternal grandparents, Bill and Lilian Cone; uncle, David Smith; and Sophie, his beloved dachshund.

Please join Jeff's family on Tuesday, October 24, 2017, for a Memorial Visitation from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Schertz Funeral Home, 2217 FM 3009, Schertz, TX, 78154. Shortly after 7 p.m., the opportunity to memorialize Jeff with a few words will be provided to those wishing to do so.
