Joann is survived by her children; David Degollado, and wife Alyssa, Debbie Degollado, Fredy Degollado and wife Laura, and Gary Degollado. Joann was born in St. Leonard, New Brunswick, Canada on May 12, 1941. Joann met airman David A. Degollado who was stationed at Loring AFB Maine.  They were married on March 21, 1964. Joann was soon thrust into a world of travel that went from Albany, Georgia, to North Dakota, before ending up in her husband’s hometown of (Laredo, Texas). Joann did not speak English well at the time and ended up staying with her in laws that spoke primarily Spanish while her husband was over-seas. This was a dramatic change for the young woman from the small town of New Brunswick, Canada. Joann proved that she was up to the challenge. Upon her husband’s return they were assigned to Randolph AFB, and they moved to the small country town of Schertz, Texas to raise their family. Joann and David then opened the Buffalo Country Restaurant in 1978 and operated it until 1987. Joann was the Owner/Operator of the Restaurant during that time.

Joann always wanted to look her best. She was partial to bright colors, and things that shined. You could usually find her at the bingo hall, crossing her fingers hoping her number is called. She also loved making trips to casinos in hopes of hitting the big one on the slot machines. Nana enjoyed spending time with family friends. Her home was always open to all her kids’ friends, where there were always plenty of snacks and Kool-Aid. But her favorite role, was that of Nana. The name her oldest Granddaughter Shelby, lovingly gave her. She cherished all her time with Shelby, Ramsey, and Jordan. Playing school with them, cooking their favorite macaroni, and all those dance parties. She was so loved and will be so missed. The void she left will never be filled.
