Jean Alene Blocher Craigmile, a resident of Garden Ridge arrived in the nearer presence of her Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at age 86 surrounded by her family.
Jean was born in Haily, Idaho on April 21, 1938 to Guy and Blanche Blocher. Her family moved to Pocatello, Idaho in 1942. She attended and graduated from Pocatello High School, she was an excellent student and avid reader all her life.
Jean met and married Neil Craigmile on May 25th 1956. Neil's job took them to Belgium, Germany and at least five different states in the U.S before settling in Garden Ridge in 1977. To this union were born three children, Christine, Catherine and Daniel.
Jean was extremely creative and had many hobbies including: stamp collecting, coin collecting, leather work, and crocheting. She was also an excellent seamstress. Making many of her daughters' clothes.
Jean was active in local affairs, serving as a volunteer EMT for Bracken EMS, Republican Women's Club, and volunteered at Comal Elementary School and Triumphant Lutheran Quilters Group.
Jean enjoyed camping with family and friends. Neil and Jean traveled all over Europe and the Holy Land and collected many unique items in their travels. They also traveled all over North America including Alaska and Prince Edwards Island.
Jean is survived by her husband Neil, daughters Christine Stemmermann and Catherine Craigmile, her son Daniel Craigmile, her grandchildren Shilo Stemmermann, Samantha Kempers, her great grandchildren Savanna Kempers and Lorelai Kempers.
Jean was preceded in death by her sister Shirley Miller.
Services will be held at Triumphant Lutheran Church in Garden Ridge on April 11th at 10:30am, reception following.
