Jean Burch

November 20, 1955 — August 14, 2014

Jean "Jeannie" Burch went to rest peacefully in the arms of our Lord who called her name on August 14, 2014. She is now reunited with her husband, Steve and her mom and dad. Jeannie and her children, Bryce and Kaitlyn, moved to Texas from North Carolina over ten years ago to be near her sister, Carolyn and family. She loved sewing, doing crafts and puzzles. Jeannie looked forward to her Saturday night burger at Longhorn Café with her family and a Dos Equis. She was a devoted employee at Randolph Brooks Federal Credit Union for over 7 years where she always was one of the first to volunteer to work overtime or to help cover a shift. Jeannie always looked forward to their summer beach vacation with Carolyn and Don; it quickly became a yearly ritual. Recently, Kaitlyn married and no one was prouder than Jeannie as Bryce walked his mom down the aisle and then returned to walk his sister down the aisle. It was a beautiful day. Jeannie was a sweet individual whom everyone loved. She enjoyed her family most of all. Her second love was her animals who gave her so much comfort, Sophie, Cotton and Smokey. She loved working in her yard and planting flowers, the more color the better. Her favorite colors were green and purple. Jeannie loved the Jethro Tull Band and their lead singer Ian Anderson. Jeannie will be missed by everyone she touched, never a kinder soul you will meet. Jeannie is preceded in death by her husband, Steven L. Burch; Parents, Virginia and Douglas Martin. She is survived by her son, Bryce D. Burch of Converse TX; daughter, Kaitlyn M. Loveday of Cibolo, TX; son-in-law, Kristopher S. Loveday of Cibolo, TX; sister, Carolyn M. Weth of San Antonio, TX; brother-in-law, Don Weth of San Antonio, TX and her mother in-law, Phyllis Caswell of Williamsburg VA. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 17, 2014 from 3:00PM to 6:00PM at Schertz Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Universal City Animal Hospital, 2510 Pat Booker Road, Universal City, Texas, 78148 or Gift cards (no check or money) to Odyssey Hospice, Inpatient Unit, 13431 Blanco Road, San Antonio, Texas, 78216.
