Jay Woodbury

On October 16, 1927, Jay Donald Woodbury was born to proud parents, Jay Donald Woodbury and Ella Emma Balusek Woodbury in Sugarland, TX. In his early childhood, Don lived in Houston, TX. The Family moved to San Antonio, TX, when Don was approximately eight years Old. Don attended school in Alamo Heights and graduated from high school on May 29th, 1964. Having prepared himself for the future, Don met and married his loving wife, Texi Lea Smith, on August 30th, 1951 in San Antonio, TX. To this union, God blessed Don and Texi Lea with one son and two daughters. For the next 50 years, Don worked in a variety of occupations, loving husband, greatest dad, and best friend. He worked in construction as a truck driver, owned a successful garden center for ten years, a restaurant for ten years and as a home builder for twelve years. On August 16, 2008 he departed this life to be with his Savior. He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Texi Lea, and their children, Don of Bulverde, Texas; Debbie of Selma, Texas and Diana Whitley and her husband, Frank of San Antonio, Texas; four grandsons, Don Jr., Justin, Dusty, Jacob; one granddaughter, Jordan; and three great grandchildren, Jace, Jayden and Trinity Lynn. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Dennis, and one sister, Ella Julia. He is also survived by one brother, Lee; three nieces, Karen, Kathy and Denise and numerous friends. Private services have been held with interment in the Holy Cross Mausoleum.
