Janet Schlameus
July 21, 1944 — May 29, 2015
Janet Ruth Schlameus, born on July 21, 1944 in San Antonio, TX, to Werner & Estella Olfers, passed away suddenly in her home to be with Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 29, 2015, at the age of 70. Janet had graduated from John J. Marshall High School in 1962. Janet had a passion for cooking and baking, and she loved watching the Spurs, Texas Rangers and Cowboys just to name a few and she never missed a playoff game, no matter who was playing. Her laugh was addicting, it was hard not to laugh along with her. Most importantly she was a follower of the Christian Faith. Janet loved people and greeted everyone with a smile and had an open heart to anyone and everyone. People were always amazed that she could remember their names. Janet loved and cherished her family so much and she was the one who made sure the family all went to church. Janet was a very supporting and loving wife, she and Jack spent 47 wonderful years together and was his life and his guiding light in life. She will be missed beyond comprehension by family and friends. As we remember her, know that she is now walking side by side with our Lord and still lives within us in our hearts. Janet is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, John (Jack) Schlameus; sons, Derek Schlameus, Brian Schlameus; grandchildren, Conner Schlameus, Tanner Schlameus, Walker Schlameus; brother, Patrick Olfers with wife, Sarah; nephews, Wesley, Michael and Jared Olfers; and Aaron Schlameus; nieces, Laura, Lucy and Susie Schlameus. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 3, 2015, from 4:00PM - 8:00PM, at the Schertz Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2015, at 10:00AM, at the Triumphant Lutheran Church located at 21315 Bat Cave Rd, Garden Ridge, TX 78266. Pastor Bill Irons officiating. Interment is to follow at Mission Park North Cemetery.
