Janet Curro
August 16, 1938 — June 30, 2012
Janet L. Curro was called home to the Lord on June 30, 2012 at the age of 73. She was born in Oswego, New York August 16, 1938. She is survived by her loving husband, Joseph Curro, having celebrated 55 years of marriage. She was a loving and adored mother to sons, William Curro and wife, Barbara of Cibolo, Texas, Donald Curro and Timothy Curro; brother, James Zischke and wife Shannon of Fort Worth Texas, and special family friend, Loretta Martinec and her husband, Steve. Janet started her career as a switchboard operator at Oswego Hospital and later studied and obtained her LVN license and continued to worked at the hospital for ten years. She then moved to San Antonio and worked at the Main Methodist hospital for 24 years. Janet had a strong work ethic and was always there for those who needed her. She loved and cared for stray animals all her life with Marley being her final four- legged friend. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Lukes Episcopal Hospital in Houston, Texas for their efforts in continuing her life, and a special thank you to her co-workers and friends, Ardie Hubbard and Willie Lou Scottie Scott at Main Methodist Hospital, General Surgery, 5th floor N. in San Antonio, Texas who stayed, prayed, and comforted her as she went to heaven. The family will receive friends at Schertz Funeral Home on Monday, July 9, 2012 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00pm.
